Solomon Burbridge's film about mood is an experimental meditation on anger

In his latest film, Sauer, Portland filmmaker Solomon Burbridge of Design Lab looks at the feeling of anger and how it might influence our mood.

With a dark and ominous soundtrack, this short features a model surrounded by various props – a bag full of oranges, a hanging brick, a plastic glove – mostly set against a bright red background.

"It's an experimental meditation on anger," says Solo. "We see the sculptural journey of a woman whose experiences create an unshakeable mood that feels uncanny, mysterious and kind of dangerous."

Directed by Solomon along with Joshua Cox, and edited by Greg Arden, Sauer follows No Sh*t Show, a Vimeo Staff Pick that also won Best Experimental Short at several festivals this year.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Solomon Burbridge has worked in film and VFX for almost 20 years. "I am really interested in conceptual photography, symbolism and especially the places where beauty and strangeness collide," he adds.
