The role

Mercury is hiring its first Executive Producer to establish Creative Production as a core capability within Brand Creative. It is a senior, hands-on post that combines building the production function with personally producing the largest campaigns. The role can be based in San Francisco, New York or Portland, or done remotely from within the United States or Canada.

What you'll do

  • Own production across Brand Creative campaigns and projects, weighing priorities, capacity, staffing, budgets, timelines and risk
  • Personally lead the most ambitious campaigns and selected projects from concept to delivery, across film, photography, motion, experiential, digital and integrated work
  • Work with creative leaders to turn ideas into production plans, pushing back on underdeveloped briefs and protecting the creative idea
  • Build and lead a network of agencies, directors, studios, photographers, freelancers and production partners
  • Establish how Brand Creative prioritises, staffs, approves, reviews and delivers projects
  • Keep creative leaders and partners in other functions informed about the true state of the work, including decisions, constraints, trade-offs and risks
  • Work with Brand Creative leadership to raise the quality of the work and build a strong in-house creative team

About you

  • Significant experience leading complex, multidisciplinary creative production, including owning large campaigns and several projects at once independently
  • Deep production experience across film, photography, motion, experiential, digital and integrated brand work
  • Sound financial and operational judgement, covering scoping, staffing, budgeting and forecasting
  • A record of building production systems, capabilities or ways of working
  • Experience building and managing a network of agencies, production companies, directors, studios, freelancers and vendors
  • Strong creative judgement and the confidence to question briefs and make hard trade-offs
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills
  • Calm, clear judgement when things are ambiguous, and an appetite for building a function while still producing work

What's on offer

  • Base salary bands that vary by location

The process

  • Apply with a CV; a cover letter, LinkedIn profile and portfolio are optional
  • The form asks about visa sponsorship needs and where you intend to work

The details

  • Salary: $189,400 – $236,700 in the San Francisco Bay Area, plus equity
  • Location: San Francisco, New York, Portland or remote in the US or Canada
  • Level: senior
