MATTA believes sport can improve people and communities, and wants to make brands and campaigns matter to more people by engaging fans with bold creative work. The agency is hiring a Senior Creative who specialises in copy and ideation.

The ideal candidate is a midweight or senior creative with several years of agency experience and a portfolio that shows strong concepts, copy craft and social fluency. The role covers big campaign platforms, taglines, scripts, social-first ideas, short-form content and reactive work – and MATTA wants people who understand that ideas must be built differently for each channel, not simply adapted. Think of it as an "ideas machine" role: high-quality thinking, produced quickly, without sacrificing craft.

What you'll be doing

  • Ideation: generate original creative thinking across briefs, audiences and channels

  • Creative excellence: turn insight into strong concepts, and concepts into standout work

  • Copywriting, scriptwriting and storytelling: write taglines, scripts, headlines, narratives and campaign copy

  • Social-first creativity: create ideas native to social and digital, including short-form, reactive, creator-led and larger social campaigns

  • Integrated thinking: build ideas that work across channels, knowing when to start in social and when a broader campaign is needed

  • Cultural and social relevance: develop platforms and content that reflect culture and communities and give people a reason to take part

  • End-to-end ownership: own briefs from first thought through to delivery

  • Creative storytelling: build presentations that guide clients from insight to final idea

  • Client confidence: present, sell and defend your thinking to clients and colleagues

  • Visual direction: help shape art direction, moodboards and storyboards for film, content and campaigns

  • Collaboration: work closely with art directors, designers, strategists and the wider team

What we're looking for

Essential experience

  • Outstanding portfolio: strong conceptual thinking, excellent copy and ideas across multiple formats and channels

  • Social and digital native: deep knowledge of social platforms, formats, behaviours and communities, with work conceived for digital rather than adapted to it

  • Integrated campaign experience: developing ideas across social, digital, content, earned and broader campaign channels

  • Platform and cultural fluency: curiosity about emerging platforms, creators and trends, with the judgement to separate real opportunities from trend-chasing

  • Strong presentation skills: a proven ability to sell work clearly and confidently

  • Sector awareness: strong awareness of sport, culture and entertainment

  • Leadership and collaboration: a collaborative approach and the ability to lead, challenge and inspire others

  • Creative integrity: high standards, strong opinions and knowing when to push

  • Strong visual instincts: a good visual eye and comfort shaping look, feel and creative direction

Desirable (not essential)

  • Sport sector experience: hands-on work with sports, fitness or lifestyle brands

What's on offer

  • Annual leave: 23 days, rising by one day a year to a maximum of 30, plus three extra days at Christmas

  • MATTA Sports Day: one extra day a year to watch or play sport

  • Sabbatical policy: longer-term leave for travel, volunteering, study or a break

  • Health and financial wellbeing: health and dental insurance, 24/7 virtual GP access, life assurance, income protection and financial advice

  • Regular socials: quarterly team events, Thursday drinks and monthly pizza

  • Hybrid working: work from home alongside time in the London Bridge office

  • Discounts: a benefits platform with discounts on shopping, food, beauty, travel and more

  • Dog-friendly office
