New branding and interior for Nozomi Sushi Bar, a piece of Japan in Spain
Spanish creative studio Masquespacio has just developed the new brand identity and interior design for Nozomi Sushi Bar, a new restaurant in Valencia by José Miguel Herrera and Nuria Morell, both passionate by the Japanese culture and specialists in authentic traditional sushi.

The project began with a study of Japanese culture and the origin of sushi, a study which involved the whole team to understand and represent the Japanese culture through the brand image and especially through the interior of the new restaurant.
The brand name, Nozomi, was chosen by the restaurant founders because in the first instance it's the name of a Japanese high speed bullet train, and at the same time it means ‘fulfilled dream’; two meanings that Herrera and Morell wanted the brand identity to represent – a mixture of traditional and contemporary. And as soon as you walk through the doors of Nozomi, it is evident how these two themes have been combined.
From traditional Japanese carpentry, minimalist food menus and beautiful cherry blossom-inspired ceiling installations, to those classic dividing walls and soft wood throughout, Nozomi will transport you to the traditional streets of Kyoto, with every last detail designed to bring authentic Japanese cuisine to the streets of Valencia.
