Here Design 'reinvents' alcohol-abstinence temperance movement with new kombucha branding
East London-based studio Here Design has created the branding and bottle designs the new Sparkling English Rose variant by L.A Brewery, a British kombucha brand that taps into the alcohol-abstinence temperance movement.

Founded by "kombucha-brewing expert" Louise Avery, Suffolk brewery produces naturally fizzy, booze-free drinks; and has worked with Here since its launch in 2017. The Sparkling English Rose line is brewed "with a blend of White Monkey and Assam teas and infused with aromatic organic white rose petals from Devon," according to Here, and "balances fresh zest acidity with floral notes, and has a dry finish making it reminiscent of wildflower champagne."
Here's approach was inspired by the "elegantly ceremonious" look of champagne brands, to heighten the idea that the drink has a celebratory feel, despite being non-alcoholic. As such, the bottle-shaped is long and curved, bearing a muselet metal caged cork to add to the feeling of ceremony when opening the bottle.
Tess Wicksteed, Here Design's strategy partner, describes the project as "a perfect example of our studio philosophy—to create beautiful and useful things with a clear purpose; in this case, reinventing temperance."
A new hops variant from the brewery is also being launched alongside the Sparkling English Rose drink, for which Here also designed the packaging. L.A Brewery Sparkling English Rose is on sale from 1 July from Amazon and the L.A Brewery online shop.
