The role

Leads creative for the Times' public events, such as DealBook, Climate Forward and Hard Fork Live. The role covers identity, spatial design, live production and post-event storytelling, and manages a design team.

What you'll do

  • Set visual direction, including spatial design, environmental graphics and wayfinding
  • Guide each event from naming and identity to post-event content
  • Integrate sponsors without compromising the audience experience
  • Art direct video interstitials and live screen graphics
  • Coordinate across editorial, events and marketing
  • Oversee event photography
  • Manage and mentor the events design team

About you

  • 10+ years in brand identity, experiential design and live-event production
  • Experience designing signage, wayfinding and large-scale event graphics
  • A versatile portfolio with strong layout and typography
  • A solid grasp of motion design and directing motion teams
  • Familiarity with video production workflows
  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and Google Slides
  • A degree (BA, BS, BFA or MFA)

  • Salary: $148,000 – $170,000, with possible bonus and stock on top
  • Location: New York, NY; hybrid, three days a week in the office
  • Level: senior leadership (10+ years)
