The World Design Rankings is part of the A' Design Awards – one of the largest art and design competitions in the world. Each year, the organisation reveals how well each of the countries has done in terms of Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron Design Awards won, and then ranks them accordingly.

For the 2020 edition, 108 countries took part, and the top six positions on the World Design Rankings were awarded to China, USA, Japan, Italy, Hong Kong and the UK.

This year, China garnered a whopping 2,272 awards in total, compared to 1,038 awards for the USA. These awards cover a diverse range of disciplines, including packaging design; graphics and visual communication design; computer graphics and 3D model design; movie and animation design; arts, crafts and ready-made design, and more.
