The role
Anthropic is hiring a Growth Marketing Lead to own and scale its performance marketing. The role sits in the Growth team, where product managers, engineers, designers, data scientists and marketers work as one group across every Claude product and plan: Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise and the API for developers. Growth marketing covers performance marketing, lifecycle and SEO. You would set channel strategy for both self-serve and sales-assisted journeys, build programmes for different customer segments, and answer for measurable results from demand creation through to customer growth. The role can be based in San Francisco, New York City or Seattle.
What you'll do
- Set the global performance marketing strategy for every channel, including forecasts, plans, audience targeting and budget pacing
- Run growth campaigns from hypothesis to launch and scale, covering acquisition, activation and retention
- Build campaigns and programmes aimed at consumers, developers and businesses
- Lead self-serve and product-led B2B demand generation for Team, Enterprise and the API, and work with Enterprise Marketing and GTM on sales-assisted demand
- Work with Data Science on incrementality, holdouts, attribution, lifetime value and payback
- Run experiments and incrementality measurement, and turn the findings into playbooks that work across markets, segments and sales motions
- Work with Growth Product and Growth Engineering on top-of-funnel experiments, tracking and the marketing stack
- Get strong creative out faster with Brand, Content and Product Marketing, and take what works in core markets to international ones
- Give senior leadership clear recommendations from complex analysis, shape the long-term roadmap, and lead and grow the growth marketing team
About you
- Ten or more years in growth or performance marketing at fast-growing technology companies with a self-serve or product-led model
- Experience leading a growth marketing function, with responsibility for the team, budget and KPIs across several channels, and recent hands-on work
- A record in self-serve and product-led B2B demand generation as well as consumer growth, and of working well with enterprise marketing and sales
- Rigour about experimentation and incrementality: you check your own numbers and can hold your own with data scientists
- First-principles thinking, persistence in getting work shipped, and the ability to bring partner teams with you
- Clear writing, including explaining marketing performance to executives and non-marketers
- A technical background, or the ability to work effectively with engineering teams
- Already using AI to work faster and better, with a view on how it changes growth marketing and enthusiasm for Anthropic's mission
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent mix of education, training and experience
Preferred
- Experience marketing to developers or other technical audiences, or on an AI product
- Experience of SEO and lifecycle as well as performance marketing
- Experience with products that have both B2C and B2B funnels
- Experience in consumer subscription businesses
- A founder background
What's on offer
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- Optional equity donation matching
- Generous holiday and parental leave
- Flexible working hours
- Office space for working alongside colleagues
- Visa sponsorship is available, though not for every role or candidate
The process
- Submit a CV or LinkedIn profile; a cover letter is optional
- Answer a "Why Anthropic?" question, with 200 to 400 words suggested
- Confirm the company's policy on AI use in applications and accept an arbitration agreement
The details
- Salary: $320,000 – $400,000
- Contract: full-time
- Location: San Francisco, New York City or Seattle; hybrid, in the office at least 25% of the time
