M Power: logo and branding for filmmaker Martin Webb by All Works Co
Martin Webb is a director, cinematographer and producer based in London. He's best known for his work on documentaries such as I Shot My Parents, a BBC film about a 14-year-old who shot his parents in the head whilst they slept.

When Webb approached All Works Co, a graphic design and visual communication studio based in London, to design his personal branding, they relished the challenge. "Working with Martin to create his identity, we established that the solution would need to take a minimal and refined approach," says graphic designer and art director Nicholas Smart.
The resulting logo design centres around a monogram/ambigram that retains its meaning when viewed from a different orientation. It's a clever reference to the multiple ways a filmmaker can approach and interpret a subject, while being simple, classic, legible and flexible to boot.
"The minimal aesthetic of the identity was further emphasised in the strict monochromatic colour palette and refined typographic styles," adds Smart. "In tandem with the identity we delivered a fully responsive website, a complete set of stationery and a series of templates for admin-based applications."
