Stunning two dimensional photographs that mix nature with urban landscapes

The Laurent Mueller gallery in Paris is hosting a new exhibition entitled Twice by photographer Cyrille Weiner and designer Grégory Lacoua, who have joined forces to present a shared reflection on constructing space with photographs.

The pair have created a unique photographic artwork – half sculpture, half furniture – by taking three photographs by Weiner and transferring them onto separate glass panes, which are then placed in front of one another on a beautiful wooden structure to reveal a floating, porous landscape, all at once natural and urban. This superposition reminds us of the relief effect of old stereoscopic images whose public display often resulted in a collective experience. The work presents to the eye a projection space both dense and crystalline that can be adjusted and reconstructed at will.

The exhibition, which ends on 22 March 2015, forms part of the ongoing Code Inconnu series of solo shows at Laurent Mueller, curated by Marguerite Pilven. If you'd like to discover more you can now purchase the artist’s book: Twice by Cyrille Weiner, published by 19/80 éditions.
