Fans of Wallace & Gromit will be able to get closer to the loveable duo with a new augmented story
For the first time ever, Wallace and Gromit will bring fans directly into their epic adventures via The Big Fix Up, a unique story-driven augmented reality experience by Aardman and Fictioneers.
Set for launch this autumn, we'll be able to download a free app and play along at home, as an employee of the iconic duo's latest business venture, Spick & Spanners which has landed the contract of a lifetime: to 'fix up' Bristol – the home of Aardman.
The adventure will play out in a variety of different types of media, to tell the beats of a story: multi-user AR gameplay, new CG animations, in character phone calls, comic strips, extended reality (XR) portals and more. We're especially excited to see the inclusion of 3D mapping platform, Fantasmo, which will bring an unprecedented city-scale augmented reality experience.
The new Wallace & Gromit story is an entirely home-based experience, meaning it is accessible to all with a recent smartphone (see compatible devices via Google and Apple).
Following its initial UK launch in autumn, Fictioneers plan to roll out The Big Fix Up globally. Until then, visit www.thebigfixup.co.uk to register your interest. Or watch the promo teaser short above.
