Giant Tetris-inspired stacked sculptures made out of everyday objects

Using unwanted furniture, discarded household goods and other mundane everyday objects, Swedish artist Michael Johansson creates astonishing giant sculptures that are reminiscent of a much-loved gaming classic.

Taking things like suitcases, boxes, cabinets and televisions, he brings order to chaos and produces Tetris-inspired installations which are made up of familiar shapes in a spectrum of colours, all stacked up on top of one another. While most are huge public art sculptures, such as those amongst shipping containers or between whole buildings; others are made especially for exhibitions and are on a slightly smaller scale.

As you browse through his portfolio, you can't help hum the catchy Tetris theme tune, and wonder how on earth he managed to take so many different things and turn them into something so organised and beautiful.
