The photography, commissioned by furniture retailer IKEA and shot by photographer Tim Cole, is a tribute to famous mealtimes from history. The collection sees Hopper's Nighthawks, Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party and Van Gogh's The Potato Eaters in a whole new light, as they are loving re-created as contemporary real life scenes.

The three paintings have been re-contextualised for modern times but retain their iconic composition and recognisable tones.

Photographer Tim Cole commented: "It was an exciting challenge to be asked to capture the couple's quiet meal on a gloomy evening from Nighthawks, the gaiety of the summer gathering from the Boating Party, and the humble sharing of a simple supper after an honest day's work in The Potato Eaters.”
