Cristóbal Pérez García is a contemporary Spanish painter who loves to base himself on the busy sidewalks and street corners of New York to capture the metropolis as it constantly moves around him.

Creating stunning oil paintings of the urban landscape from a pedestrian's perspective, he likes to choose different times of the day – particularly dusk and dawn – to play with the light, and show different sides to the city that never sleeps. Using playful brushstrokes and a burst of colour, you can really picture yourself being there, immersed in the city with all its noise and smells – making you want to be there in the flesh.

Of course, García doesn't just paint in New York; he's visited cities across the world to paint, including London, Barcelona and Rome. Check out his stunning work at www.cristobalperezgarcia.com and watch the video below, Traffic, to enjoy a glimpse of the artist in action.
