The monumental anchor, which is installed in the Guy Favreau complex, is a reference to the contradiction between an anchor’s heavyweight and this anchor’s light and fragile cardboard composition. The piece "expresses how this is felt like a necessity by immigrating people, while also exploring the instability and the transitory conditions they experience".

French-born artist Cardin, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rennes, is now based in Montreal and specialises in installation, sculpture and performances. Her works have been exhibited in France, Belgium and Russia.
