The role
A lead designer in Monzo's design team of more than 115 people, working in squads with research, product and engineering. The role takes on ambiguous, cross-business problems and sets product vision as well as raising craft standards.
What you'll do
- Turn complex, ambiguous design problems into scalable solutions
- Lead large cross-business projects and align strategy through design
- Set product visions, principles and direction for teams
- Use AI across the workflow, from ideation and prototyping to shipping production code
- Raise the bar on visual execution, motion and interaction
- Improve the design system, tooling and processes
- Mentor others and share work openly
About you
- A track record of customer-centred native-app design with commercial results
- Experience leading research, defining product vision and aligning teams
- Able to build modular, scalable solutions
- Strong collaboration across multiple squads and with leadership
- An interest in improving design systems and ways of working
- Contributes to hiring, mentoring and team culture
