Waterscapes: Minimalist aquariums that float the idea of underwater 3D printing

In her Waterscapes series, Japanese designer and founder of Misawa Design Institute, Haruka Misawa crafts minimalist aquariums that feature 3D printed objects inspired by marine plant life.

Mimicking coral and other aquatic features, the miniature sculptures are digitally manufactured and placed inside simple square-shaped tanks, creating interesting new homes for fish to swim in-between and hide. What's particularly smart is the addition of bubbles of air within each aquarium, to supposedly allow plants to thrive.
