Still Diets: Dan Bannino's fine art photographs of weird celebrity diets
In his series Still Diets, fine art photographer Dan Bannino – featured previously – explores the weird and wonderful world of crazy celebrity diets by creating still life images of what they eat. Putting together actual spreads of different delicacies and drinks for each subject, and then photographing them, his images look like the classic still life paintings by the Old Masters, particularly Caravaggio.

"The importance of light in every rim of my virtual canvas is a fundamental element of the composition," Dan says. "During the development process another substantial inspiration came from the artworks of Dutch artists from the Golden Age, researching and studying those elements as symbols of vanity. The result is a mash-up of old and new, baroque and modern."
