Tucking into Indulgence, paintings by Lee Price that show women eating food
Artist Lee Price loves to create realistic oil paintings, that show women and food in their most intimate and private settings.

These pictures are actually self-portraits, showing Lee getting excessive with food that is considered especially indulgent and forbidden. I guess you could say that her work points to the pressures that women face on a daily basis.
As Lee explains: "In this society, there’s so much pressure for women to be thin. We’re not supposed to have appetites – and not just for food, but for a lot of things. We’re the givers and not the consumers, and I think some of my recent paintings are about the women staring at the viewers and saying, ‘I’m not going to censor my appetite’."
