Joyful neon artworks by Gregory Siff of faces, mushrooms and inspiring words

If you love the idea of adding some neon art to your walls but have so far been put off by the usual clichéd statements and cheesy imagery, then you'll be happy to hear that LA-based artist Gregory Siff has just launched a new collection in his trademark style, blending pop art and abstract expressionism.

Consisting of 10 limited-edition playful designs, there's everything from a smiley mushroom and diamond to striking figures of a boy and girl. In typical Siff fashion, the collection also includes bold and meaningful words such as 'Life', 'Happy', 'Sexy' and 'Magic'. "Altogether the neons work as one big painting," explains Siff, who usually loves to play with inks, acrylic and spray paint.

The LED neon pieces are available at £450 each via Yellowpop, a decor brand that often approaches artists to collaborate on exclusive neon designs. Previous collaborators include Swedish-French artist Andre Saraiva, American designer and potter Jonathan Adler, Palestinian Jordanian-Australian artist Sarah Bahbah, and NYC-based accessories designer Susan Alexandra.

With Siff, we personally love Handsome, one that pairs with That Girl or looks good on its own. Siff recommends putting the two artworks "opposite each other", so they can "playfully flirt across the room".

Gregory Siff is an American artist best known for his highly emotive style that merges abstraction, pop and action painting. His iconic works have been included in MoMA PS1's Rockaway!, Vans Custom Culture at the Whitney Museum of American Art and in luxury fashion house Saint Laurent’s F/W 2018 Collection. Siff has also collaborated with fashion brand, Pyer Moss, painting pieces live on the runway that are now archived by The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
