José Arias's cute and cheerful alphabet monsters created for 36 Days of Type

It's impossible to pick a favourite character in this monstrous series by designer José Arias, created for 36 Days of Type, but if we were pushed it might have to be the letter 'O', sat next to its hoard of toilet rolls.

"This year, I took on the 2020 challenge and made a series of friendly and furry characters to help me improve my mastery of hair in Cinema 4D. I hope you like it," says José. They certainly look cute and cuddly, although we're not sure we should go too close to 'B'. And 'Z' looks a little too sassy for our liking. Does José have a favourite? "Perhaps the monsters with the teeth," he tells us. "They have a next-level kind of madness!"

Based in Peru, José graduated from the Superior Institute of Sise in Lima. Having previously worked at the local ad agencies, Yellow and BTL, as a graphic designer, junior art director and 3D modeller, he now freelances full-time. Discover more of his work on Behance.
