They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, which certainly seems to be true in Lorenzo Plaatjies's work.

The illustrator is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and specialises in drawing detailed portraits of women's faces – sometimes covered, or with eyes closed, but always telling of the personality beneath.
