Based in Canada, the popular brewery features limited-edition works of art on its beer cans and labels and has subsequently built a global community, supporting artists and designers worldwide.
Every year, it invites creatives to submit their work in bi-yearly 'calls for art'. Mario's project, World Eye, was selected to be the image for the beer IPA No. 5 in 2017. Collaterals were also created, from t-shirts to glassware. After its huge success, Mario was asked to create the graphic art for the brewery's new IPA No. 15; a throwback, if you will. And it's a design inspired by the drink's notes of "bright grapefruit citrus, juicy tropical mango and passionfruit", with "pleasantly dank, piney undertones, and a touch of lactose for sweetness".
All centred around a navy, green, red and yellow palette, there's a 1980s vibe to Mario's packaging, all centred around an all-staring eye icon. Even better, you can grab the drink online and see the product in the flesh.
Other recent collaborations via Collective Arts Brewing include a pink gin and soda with rhubarb and hibiscus by Amber Vittoria; a raspberry dry hopped sour by Liam Davidson and a dry gin and sofa with grapefruit, lemon and thyme by Maia Faddoul.
