Blok serves up a sophisticated identity for The Civic that nods to Toronto's past

Housed within the iconic Broadview Hotel, The Civic’s identity by Canada's Blok offers its own nod to Toronto’s gilded past through an experience that honours the spirit of the city’s great civic leaders through a modern reinterpretation of the times.

Hart Massey, for instance, was a local manufacturer and philanthropist, and you can enjoy his illustrated portrait, decorated here and there throughout the celebrated restaurant's branding. Or what about William Gooderham? A famous Canadian distiller, businessman, and banker – he too makes an appearance.

All of the chosen graphics and language borrow from the turn of the century to create a playful conversation that hints at the gastronomic pleasures to come. The colour palette is muted and sophisticated with splashes of soft blues and greens. An appetising piece of work yet again from the Toronto studio. See more at blokdesign.com.
