Agnese Tauriņa's bold and magical screenprints, layered with Indian mythology
Bold, mystical and richly layered, the work of Latvian illustrator, graphic designer and printmaker Agnese Tauriņa (aka AGNESSAGA), combines classical poster design aesthetics with mythological themes.

Screen printing is her favourite mode of expression and signature medium, adding depth and texture to her colourful, simple shapes.
AGNESSAGA's beautiful prints are rich in detail and layered with references. Femininity and nature are recurring themes, and she is heavily influenced by Indian philosophy, mythology and art, with works featuring typography in Sanskrit, and popular Indian iconography and motifs such as female goddesses and tigers.
With an interest in yoga, she explores states of mind such as contemplation, pleasure, trance and ecstasy. She describes her latest series of works as a “primordial and blissful space where bodies merge with their lush surroundings and natural rhythms.”
AGNESSAGA completed her Graphic communication bachelor’s degree at Central Saint Martins in 2016, and she currently works between Riga, Latvia and Oxford on editorial, packaging and art projects. Take a look at more of her work at her website, agnessaga.com.
