10 summer necklaces by independent jewellery designers

Earlier this year, we brought you a recommended list of independent jewellery designers. It proved so popular that we've decided to unearth some of the best summer necklaces by these crafters and makers – some from that original list, others newly discovered.

1. Follow The Sun Necklace by Adriana Chede

Featuring one yellow diamond, Adriana Chede's Follow The Sun necklace symbolises brightness and positivity. As Chede explains, "It reminds us of the warming, rejuvenating sensation of rays washing over our skin, welcoming the sun on each new morning, full of power and light."

Handmade with recycled sustainable 9 carat gold in Chede's London atelier, the pendant consists of a solid gold round pendant (11mm) with hand-engraved detailing, finished with one yellow diamond (0.02ct), hung on a solid gold square diamond cut belcher chain, 18 inches in length. Priced at £405.

3. Swimming Pool Necklace by Tiny Scenic

Currently taking a short break (but back soon) is Tiny Scenic, an independent brand by Jo Strange and Andrew Rees from Winchester, UK. Their handmade jewellery has a "mid-century picture-postcard vibe" and will appeal to those who love the pastel-coloured hues of Miami's Art Deco buildings mixed in with some 1950s Americana.

We love their mid-century little houses in delicate pinks or greens. But for the purpose of this article, we've selected their swimming pool necklace; one that sparks that immediate happy memory of holidays in the sun. We also love their little wooden ice cream stand, as shown above. There are lots to choose from, so add them to your favourites, ready for when they return from their own summer break.
