Maz McCorkle's digital portraits inspired by Lisbon are bursting with summery colours
Visual artist and illustrator Maz McCorkle loves to use a fresh, summery palette of oranges, yellows and pinks to create mainly digital portraits of the characters she meets in Portugal, where she's currently based.

After graduating from The University of Texas in Austin, she lived briefly in Nicaragua and re-located to Lisbon, where she illustrates for an animation studio. Beyond illustration, Maz works with mixed-media and ceramics, and her work has been displayed in San Diego, Mexico City, and Lisbon.
"I've lived in Portugal for over a year now and I've noticed that the colours and people that I see walking down the street are appearing in my work," says Maz. "The plan is for these characters and scenes, in addition to many more, to come together to create a large city scene that further explores, complicates, and relates each of them."
