Detailed illustrations depict otherworldly monochrome dreamscapes

The sheer level of detail and precision found in the work of French illustrator, Clément Fourment, is impressive, to say the least.

After studying graphic design, Fourment spent two years creating giant Leporello, as large as five-metres long – each filled with detailed drawings in black and white – the precision of which would become a characteristic of his work.

Citing his dreams as his main source of inspiration, Fourment explains: "Like in a dream, we walk without really knowing where we are going. We are led by an instinctive and uncontrollable force.

"Time and space are blurry. The chronology does not work as in reality, there is no temporal logic. Everyone will have to get lost in the image to hang on to a reality."

Each page of the Leporello has a story, which then changes when viewing the project as a whole.

"The metamorphosis is a good word to define my work; I like to change medium and style to alter the narration." See more on Instagram.
