No Safe Place: Anthony Burrill reveals his latest screenprint using charcoal from the Australian bushfires

No Safe Place was created using charcoal from the burnt trees as a printing medium. The artwork will be exhibited in Rise, an upcoming exhibition in Sydney that will feature an international roll call of artists and designers who have contributed work made using this unusual material.

The pieces will be auctioned and proceeds will be donated to a number of charities working to rebuild lives and restore lost wildlife habitats in Australia.

For almost eight months, New South Wales experienced raging bushfires, sometimes hundreds at once, across Australia's most populous state. More than five million hectares have burned following a long drought and record temperatures – making it the worst bushfire season to date. Thankfully, the situation finally changed when rain arrived in the region on Valentine's Day.
