Manchester Northern Quarter's colourful characters in paper

Fred Aldous is a lively hub of creativity that has been supplying the people of Manchester and the rest of the world with art supplies since 1886. As part of its Make Anything campaign, the popular shop has been inviting artists, designers and all manner of creative people from the North West to make a window display or installation.

Its latest display, which will be up at Stevenson Square in the city's Northern Quarter until the end of September, has been created by local designer and image maker Robert Lomas. Robert also works at Manchester studio Design By Day.

He has created a playful reflection of Stevenson Square, and the colourful characters found there, out of laser-cut paper from GF Smith. The epic project took him over 70 hours to complete. Check it out! Photography by Yannick Dixon.
