Gary Card's curious collaborations bring us fantastical creatures from another world

When it comes to collaborations, there's nothing better than seeing what a brilliant creative mind can do with a bit of paper.

Two fantastical paper creatures by Gary Card stand facing each other, adorned with intricate textures, ribbons and sculptural elements in jewel tones and metallic finishes

And not just any paper – I'm talking an avant-garde, patented paper by Arjowiggins' Curious Matter.

Created using potato starch, it gives us a startling texture with a richly matt, ultra-pigmented surface - making it daring, inspiring and quite possibly every creative's dream. Designer Gary Card, the rising star of the London scene and fêted costume and set designer for Lady Gaga, was recently commissioned by Arjowiggins to take part in an adventurous, artistic collaboration to launch the new range.

Taking his wildly eccentric ideas, Gary gave birth to a fantastical set of creatures, all reflecting the theme of metamorphosis. Just beautiful.
