Beautiful collages and drawings of flower-covered marine life by Jenny Brown

American illustrator and visual artist Jenny Brown loves to create flower-covered sea creatures that could often be mistaken for parts of the human anatomy. Decorating giant clams, squid and jellyfish with various petals and plant elements, Jenny's primary mediums are drawing, collage, and works on paper.

Her creations bring to life a mythical world of sea creatures and forests, realised through her love of paper ephemera. Her recent collages focus on a dream of representing harmony amongst different elements of the natural world – flora, fauna, the sky and sea. An abundance of florals represent the hearts and souls of these fantastic creatures. Their branches and tentacles share their yearning to be connected to the most basic elements of life which created them...water, mineral, and the stars.

Jenny studied art at Bennington College and received her MFA from School of Visual Arts in New York. She was a featured artist in the October 2015 issue of Fresh Paint Magazine, as well as part of the recently released “Craft Companion,” published by Thames & Hudson Australia. Her work is currently shown at Collier West in Brooklyn, NY and Good Eye Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. She now lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island. Discover more at Jennybrownart.com.
