Celebrated British artist Sophie Ryder is staging a solo exhibition of new drawings and sculptures this summer, paying tribute to her much-cherished hounds.

Moving away from her usual mythical creatures, Dog Show at Hignell Gallery in Mayfair, London from 21 June until 31 July will feature charcoal and pastel drawings, bronzes, steel cut-outs and a wire sculpture – all depicting her family dogs.

"My dogs are with me 24 hours a day and they follow me everywhere," explains Sophie. "I live and breath with them and the love they give is so incredible. They are intelligent, funny, sweet and beautiful. When I started drawing them one by one, whichever dog it was, knew they were getting extra attention so they just lay next to me basically being the perfect models."
