Launched exclusively at Dover Street Market today, the bold and beautiful images make the cover of The Performance Issue, as well as an editorial piece inside the publication.

Blending high art with high fashion, with styling by Kim Howells, the dancers twisted and turned for the series of shots inspired by famous ballets from Romeo & Juliet to Cinderella and Giselle.

"It was a really artistically fulfilling experience," said Rankin. "Sophie Apollonia was so interesting and talented, I had such an amazing time working with her and understanding her unique approach to movement and self-expression. It gave me a chance to play with the line that separates different art forms; ballet, high art and fashion are all so beautiful, I love how this turned out, almost as much as I loved shooting it."
