A to Zakka: A book filled with beautifully illustrated alphabet objects for everyday life

Illustrated by Charlotte Trounce, A to Zakka is a beautifully printed children's book celebrating the classic design of everyday things. The Japanese word 'zakka' has been loosely defined as goods or sundries, and for the purposes of this book represents the objects with which we choose to surround ourselves.

"Whether a chipped porcelain bowl or the perfect pair of scissors, these are things that hold value in their everyday aesthetic and classic design – that serve a function but were chosen for their form."

The concept was developed by Maria Howard, and the book has been independently published by Telegram Press. Illustrator Charlotte Trounce is a freelance artist living in London. Her clients include the likes of The New York Times, M&C Saatchi and AnOther Magazine.

The book will be officially launched on Thursday 23 March 2017, at the Ground Floor Space, dn&co., Bermondsey. To coincide, an exhibition of objects and prints will be held from 24th to 31st March 2017.
