Moving to Australia for a new role at Design Studio, with Katie Cadwell

Katie Cadwell is a Welsh-born, Falmouth-raised designer, who worked for Supple Studio in Bath until very recently.

During that time, she created stamps for the Suffragettes, became a leading voice for women working in the creative industries, and worked for the likes of Royal Mail, National Trust and Channel 4.

She's just left the UK to join Design Studio as its senior designer in Sydney. It's been about three months since she moved to Australia with her husband. Having followed Katie's journey so far, we wanted to find out more about her new adventure.

Over the magic of the Internet, we chatted about how she discovered she wanted to be a graphic designer, whether it was a tough decision to move to another country and what it's like to be a woman in the creative industries today. Here's a little disclaimer: our chat was recorded pre-coronavirus.
