Amelia Flower's humorous 'stay at home' postcards inspired by life under lockdown

The 'Stay at Home' designs are also inspired by the funny postcards we see in souvenir shops in seaside cities and towns, but with a twist – they adapt those typical holiday scenes to depict life stuck at home. So while her characters are dressed in holiday clothes, wearing sunglasses and drinking fruity cocktails, they do so via their sofas.

"I've also been illustrating moments I have encountered, such as the new rituals of keeping two metres apart in the corner shop whilst also trying to buy the last bag of something or the endless cycle of finding new places to work from home within one room," Amelia tells Creative Boom. "I have always found so much inspiration in the mundane daily rituals of life, and documenting how different people live their lives.

"Spending so much time in my home has been more creatively inspiring than I ever thought it would be. I think that without any outside interruptions, being forced to look at your own home and the things surrounding you every day can allow you to see your home in a new way. Of course, it also gives you more time to look at the things you don’t like, such as old carpet, or walls that you would paint if you weren’t renting, but I always strive to make my illustrations document daily life in a more beautiful way."
