Managing Editor

The role

Future is hiring a Managing Editor for Go.Compare, within the GoCo Brand Marketing department. The Managing Editors team produces content for the travel insurance and personal finance verticals, and this role guides editorial strategy for both. It reports to the Head of SEO and is full-time, with three days a week in the Cardiff or Bath office.

What you'll do

• Write and edit clear, high-quality content on travel insurance and personal finance
• Produce original content that answers what people are searching for
• Refresh existing guides to match SEO briefs and to appear in newer search formats
• Make sure all published copy complies with FCA rules and regulatory guidelines
• Watch for market changes and news so editorial coverage is timely
• Plan content around user needs with the SEO, design and commercial teams
• Work with digital PR, PR and third parties to build brand visibility, supporting off-page SEO and outreach with editorial assets that attract links
• Protect and develop the Go.Compare tone of voice, working with the compliance team to meet FCA guidelines and YMYL content standards
• Use GA4, SEO tools, Slack, Google Workspace and CMS platforms day to day

About you

• Editorial experience in travel insurance, personal finance or regulated financial services
• An understanding of current SEO principles, content structure and search discovery tools
• Working knowledge of FCA compliance guidelines for consumer-facing content
• Able to interpret raw data and industry research and turn them into engaging content
• Strong communication skills for managing relationships with partners in other functions
• Experience with CMS platforms, GA4, Google Workspace and Slack
