The role

The University of Bath is hiring a part-time, permanent Communications and Events Officer in Student Support and Safeguarding, based within Student Support. The role promotes wellbeing, belonging and support services to students, helping them find out how to get support and make the most of university. It also involves welcoming new students and supporting their move into university life. Examples of the work include updating webpages and content for the MyBath app, capturing content at a student dog walk, planning a wellbeing week and developing messaging for NeverOK, a university-wide campaign.

What you'll do

  • Create campaigns, content and communications that help students use services and look after their wellbeing
  • Develop content for websites, newsletters, social media, digital screens and other channels
  • Look after the web presence, keeping pages accurate and clear so students can find information and self-help support
  • Use digital and social media to share content that promotes wellbeing and key messages
  • Plan and deliver wellbeing events, campaigns and activities through the academic year
  • Co-ordinate wellbeing weeks, events and workshops
  • Work with colleagues across Student Support to showcase services and point students towards help
  • Support the wider team in welcoming new students and helping them settle in

  • Creative, proactive and full of ideas
  • Able to turn complex information into clear, engaging messages
  • Experience co-ordinating events, campaigns or projects
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and building relationships
