The role
Shelter Scotland is hiring a Content Designer on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 35 hours a week. The role sits in the Digital function within the Communications and Engagement team and focuses on digital content, particularly online advice and content for supporters. It is listed in Edinburgh and can be home-based, office-based or a mix, though you must attend meetings at Shelter Scotland offices.
What you'll do
- Create clear, accessible digital content built around user needs, especially online advice and supporter content
- Carry out research, discovery and testing with users to keep content accessible
- Work in an agile team to publish and improve content
- Give feedback to other content designers and speak up for users
- Use evidence and insight to influence decisions across Shelter Scotland
About you
- Experience of communicating complex information clearly and producing accurate content, ideally including online advice
- Able to research and analyse complex information and turn it into accessible content
- Familiar with content design and with building user journeys that help people act on their options
