What you'll be doing

  • Building and running an insight-led social media strategy that supports the WRU Group's strategic and commercial goals
  • Planning, creating, publishing and reviewing content across all WRU channels
  • Handling daily channel operations, including scheduling, publishing, community engagement and live coverage
  • Using data and analytics to measure performance and improve content
  • Growing the audience with platform-specific content that drives engagement
  • Raising the global profile of Welsh men's and women's professional players
  • Finding and producing stories from international, professional, community and grassroots rugby
  • Promoting Welsh culture, language and values through social output
  • Supporting ticketing campaigns for senior men's and women's internationals at Principality Stadium
  • Helping grow awareness, engagement and attendances for Super Rygbi Cymru and Welsh professional clubs
  • Coordinating content with internal teams, external partners and stakeholders
  • Supporting the WRU Group's mission, purpose and values

What we're looking for

  • Strong creative skills in producing social-first content on mobile devices, with a willingness to experiment
  • A proven record of building, running and evaluating social media strategies and content plans
  • Excellent knowledge of the major platforms, trends and audience behaviour
  • A strong grasp of analytics and reporting tools
  • Excellent knowledge of rugby and the wider sports landscape
  • Sound editorial judgement and an eye for compelling storytelling
  • Experience with content management systems and editing software, and the ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Highly organised, able to juggle competing priorities including live content
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft packages
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • An excellent understanding of regulatory compliance for social media publishing
  • Desirable: the ability to communicate and work in Welsh, and a valid UK driving licence

What's on offer

  • £30,000 – £35,000 per year
  • Permanent, full-time
  • Based at Principality Stadium, Cardiff, with hybrid working
  • Salary sacrifice pension (5% employee contribution, matched by the WRU)
  • Life assurance
  • WRU Group ticket allocation (per ticketing policy)
  • An extra day of birthday leave
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Free stadium parking and gym access
  • Discounts on the WRU Group store and tours, plus WRU Group partner offers
  • Eye care voucher scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
