Get Familiar
Something Familiar is a creative agency in Bristol, and our vision is to be the most trusted creative partner for times of change. We work across strategy, brand, digital and campaign, as one studio. You'll be close to the work and close to clients, and trusted to bring your own thinking from day one.
Our founders are all creatives, so that instinct runs through everything we do. We value clear thinking, ownership, and long-term partnerships. We're also a B Corp. More than half our clients sit outside the UK, so the work reaches a lot further than Bristol.
We're looking for someone who's genuinely curious; about the work, about their own growth, and about where design is heading. Brand strategy and identity is where we start, but we rarely stop there. We take brands into the digital world through fully bespoke websites, developed in-house, paid advertising campaigns and when the work calls for it, out of home.
We're looking for a curious and collaborative candidate who wishes to develop their own skills whilst constantly pushing what's possible in this space.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualise and execute awesome design solutions with a good strategic foundation, understanding WHY you're doing something so this can be communicated to the client
- Conduct research and gather insights on consumer behaviour, competitor activities, and market trends to inform and enhance design strategies
- Collaborate with and support Creative Team, ensuring high quality concepts and execution
- Take digital projects through to complete, responsive Figma designs (components, prototypes and design systems included), collaborating closely with the Digital Team to keep quality high.
- Bring your own unique perspective, don't be afraid to question, give feedback or take critique
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, best practices in design and integrate them into creative concepts and executions
- Take ownership of creative projects, from brief to delivery, including presenting and developing client relationships
Key Requirements
- Proficiency using Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects)
- Strong digital design skills: responsive design across breakpoints, Figma component/design-system experience, and a working understanding of accessibility (WCAG)
- Comfortable working directly with developers to get builds right through to launch — you don't need to code, but you should understand how your designs get built
- Genuinely curious about AI tools — how they're speeding up research, prototyping and production, and reshaping how brands are made and experienced
- Motion experience is a 'nice to have'
- An understanding of how social media works. Experience working with it or having built your own audience is a bonus!
- A self-assured and positive attitude, with awesome communication skills — you work well with internal teams and clients, and you're a real team player
- Organised, self motivated and efficiently work to tight deadlines
- Passionate about design, seeking inspiration and being a part of the community
- Shared values: Think Big, Be Progressive and Do Good – be passionate about SF's ethos and the growth of the business.
What's on offer?
- Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 dependant on skills and experience
- Pension scheme
- 20 days holiday + public holidays, your birthday off and closure between Christmas & New Year
- Hybrid working - Tuesdays and Thursdays in Studio (Dogs welcomed in the office)
- Regular team social events and an annual trip
- Cycle to work scheme
- Annual £500 training allowance per person for your development
