Communications Officer

The role

Delivers the communications strategy for We Love MCR Charity, creating content, growing its digital presence and telling the stories that show the impact of its work. The role also supports selected fundraising programmes, working with the Head of Charity, trustees and agency support.

What you'll do

• Lead communications activity that grows audiences and engagement
• Create engaging, accessible content across digital and social channels
• Manage and develop the charity's website and digital platforms
• Plan and deliver social media campaigns
• Produce regular e-newsletters and supporter communications
• Write press releases and build relationships with journalists
• Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements
• Provide project management support on fundraising campaigns

About you

• Experience creating content across a range of digital channels
• Strong copywriting and editing skills
• Experience managing social media platforms and growing engagement
• Website content management experience
• Knowledge of email marketing and digital communications
• Able to analyse performance data and use the insights
• Strong organisation and relationship-building skills

The details

• Salary: Grade 5, £30,023 – £33,119 a year
• Contract: full-time, permanent, 35 hours a week
• Location: Town Hall Extension, Albert Square, Manchester
• Closing date: 11.59pm on 19 October 2026
• Interviews are face to face
• The role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship
