About Creative Boom

Creative Boom is an art, design & lifestyle blog, offering a daily dose of inspiration and ideas for creative people worldwide. Launched in 2009, we're hugely passionate about celebrating creativity in both work and play.

Exploring the very best work from the fields of art, crafts, graphic design, illustration and photography – we champion and provide inspiration to graduates, independents, freelancers and agencies across the globe. We also share tips and resources to provide further support wherever possible. Beyond work life, we love to cover play – writing about travel and lifestyle ideas that would appeal to any creative heart and mind.

Creative Boom is run by its founder and editor Katy Cowan, who lives in Manchester, UK. A creative herself, Katy started her blog as a little hobby, keen to share her discoveries with the art and design world. Today, her site attracts half a million monthly readers as well as advertisers such as BBC, Adobe, SquareSpace, Vimeo, Yahoo, Samsung and Jaguar.

When Katy isn't writing for Creative Boom, she runs her own business – Boomerang, a friendly Manchester PR agency – and in her spare time loves to dabble in photography, painting and travel. As well as Creative Boom, Katy has written for The Guardian, The Independent and Computer Arts magazine.
