Time spent that might otherwise be forgotten

American artist Diane Meyer has created these unusual, embroidered photographs. The method she uses is to cross-stitch directly onto the photograph, to create a pixelated effect.

The photographs themselves range in subject, from flowers, to families and architecture, but the theme that runs throughout is an attempt to resurrect something in the images. By adding something new, Meyer has once again brought them into consciousness, where they might have been forgotten in other circumstances.
