Imagine a world where giant futuristic mechs battle alongside traditional cavalry in rural landscapes. That's what Polish concept artist and illustrator Jakub Rozalski has dreamed up with his fascinating dark series, 1920+ Project.
Set in little Polish farming villages of the early 20th century, these fictional-historical scenes depict giant war machines fighting off whatever evil is threatening the world while simple villagers continue to go about their simple daily lives, farming the land with the most primitive of tools.
Using Photoshop to place these scary additions to what would otherwise be charming oil paintings of peaceful landscapes, Rozalski hopes his artworks will bring Polish history and culture back into the minds of a contemporary audience. Discover more on his portfolio.
