Relics of Technology by Jim Golden

Warning: the following post might make you feel old. And that's all thanks to photographer Jim Golden. His latest series entitled Relics of Technology focuses on obsolete technology, or the "past toys of grown-ups". The images have been beautifully shot and turned into moving GIFs which feature a typewriter, floppy discs, records and VHS tapes.

Jim said of the series, “The seeds for the Relics of Technology project started when I found a brick cellphone at a thrift store in rural Oregon. Since finding it, similar bits and pieces of old technology and media kept grabbing my attention. The fascination was equal parts nostalgia for the forms, and curiosity as to what had become of them.” However it's not all nostalgia, he adds, “These photos are reminders that progress has a price and our efforts have an expiration date.” Check out more of Jim's work here.
