Rain-soaked street photographs that look like impressionist oil paintings

in Inspiration / Photography

When you first look at these beautiful wet and gloomy city scenes, you'd assume they were oil paintings. In actual fact, they're photographs, taken by Eduard Gordeev, a talented photographer from Saint Petersburg.

Shot through windowpanes as raindrops drip down the glass, he often captures widely recognised Russian landmarks as the water naturally distorts colours and light, making each image look as though it has the same qualities and brushstrokes of impressionist oil paintings.
