Photographer visits small town areas in sparse and lonely series

Paul Murphy’s photography is characterised by the muted colours, whether capturing people on film or landscapes. In his series ‘Smalltown’, the British artist travels around sparse or secluded areas, depicting bleak or isolated houses. There is still some of the glitz and glam in certain places, but most of the homes seem very separate from human connection. It is this sense of loneliness alongside the colour palette that makes Murphy’s photographs pop.
