Perfect Strangers: A series of portraits featuring unknown subjects

They say that people make a place, and François Ollivier's photography series Perfect Strangers certainly lends itself to the sentiment. The series of portraits was shot during the photographer's travels at the beginning of this year.

He specifies that the background to a portrait is just as important as the subject. There's a certain spontaneity in the photographs, achieved through Ollivier's fast paced technique – taking just seconds to get the shots he needed.

Based in Montreal, Canada, Ollivier is completely self-taught. He has worked between copywriting and photography since 2009, producing honest and engaging work that's truly head turning.
